About

A photo of an cheerful but average-looking guy named Chase Christensen, shot on film in Seattle by by his friend Spencer Basset

Great listener, below-average skateboarder. Forever practicing both.

I use design to improve products and experiences to soften the sharp edges of life. I spend my free time skateboarding, woodworking, and exploring the enchanted Pacific North West.

Background

Leb by a curiosity and love of learning, I've worked as a snow cone maker, barista, 3D printer, skate filmer, graphic designer, and creative director.

My current adventure is Practice Makes; a low-code web design agency shipping future-proof websites that clarify, connect, and convert.

I've maintained a freelance design practice for close to a decade, and I'm always looking for great people to work with and new challenges to learn from.

Approach

Though my process is ever-evolving, it’s consistently rooted in listening, learning, and play.

I believe design is “hope made visible.” More than something I create to be posted, shared, or sold, I see design as a toolkit for making focused steps toward a better world (and having a little fun along the way).

I enjoy collaborating with big thinkers who aren’t afraid to try something new. Sometimes that looks like user research and thoughtful web design, a new product for online education, or even dreamy album artwork for a great band.
