About

A photo of an cheerful but average-looking guy named Chase Christensen, shot on film in Seattle by by his friend Spencer Basset

Great listener, below-average skateboarder. Forever practicing both.

I use design to improve products and experiences to soften the sharp edges of life. I spend my free time skateboarding, woodworking, and exploring the enchanted Pacific North West.

Background

Led by curiosity and a love of learning, I've worked as a snow cone maker, barista, 3D printer, skateboard videographer, graphic designer, and creative director.

Now, I'm focused on web design and development at Practice Makes; a web design and development studio I started to ship future-proof websites that clarify, connect, and convert.

I've maintained a freelance design practice for close to a decade, and I'm always looking for great people to work with and new challenges to learn from.

Approach

Though my process is ever-evolving, it’s consistently rooted in listening, learning, and collaboration.

I value input from the folks I partner with and the people we're solving problems for, and I see everything as an opportunity for a new perspective.

I resonate with Brian Collins' idea that design is “hope made visible.” More than something we create to be posted, shared, or sold, design is a tool for making focused steps toward a better world (and having a little fun along the way).
